History
In 1955, Chief Gerald S. Arenberg was struck by a drunk driver
and nearly killed. His experience inspired him to consider the ultimate sacrifice that many officers pay while serving and protecting our communities. While in the hospital recovering
from his injuries he decided to create a memorial for police officers killed in the line of duty.
Thanks the vision and efforts of Chief Arenberg and co-founder Derrick B. Van Brode, IV, the AFP&CC was established on October 15, 1960. Located in Titusville, Florida, the AFP&CC is committed
both to supporting the law enforcement community and providing programs and financial assistance to the family members left behind by officers killed in the line of duty. |
