Vests For Life News NACOP'S "VESTS FOR LIFE" SAVES ITS FIRST OFFICERDear Sir: I am writing
to update you and to again say thank you so very much for the armor vest. At about 0420 hours my night officer Cpt. Ricky Foster was on routine patrol of our city. He was driving up an East-West street when he saw a
subject by a storage shed on the alley behind a store. He sped up and pulled into the alley. The subject had run off, so he stopped the patrol unit, called in and got out to investigate to see if he could find the
subject. As he was walking down the alley and looking, he saw the subject standing by an old above ground fuel tank. The subject at that time started to shoot at him, hitting him three times in the right chest area and
once in the left thumb and portable radio. He returned fire and the subject ran away. He returned to his unit and called for help. If he had not been wearing his vest that you all sent to us, we would be adding his name
to the list of fallen officers. Thank you so very much for the vests; we wear them in every shift. Sincerely, Lawrence Tiedman Chief of Police South West City, MO |
