NACOP’s K-9 MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM SOARS WITH SUCCESS
The Fort Myers, Florida Police Department was one of the latest participants in NACOP’s innovative K-9 Matching Grant Program. The program is unique in that local citizens and businesses donate to fund a needed canine (including training and supplies) in their own community. The funds are matched in each locality up to $5000 by NACOP! Pictured (from l.) are Ofc. Walter Mitchell, Sgt. Dennis Eades, Chief Hilton Daniels, Ofc. Pete Tarman and NACOP K-9 Coordinator Jamie Shepherd. A total of $13,175.00 was presented to the Ft. Myers Police Department during a reception at the American Police Hall of Fame Canine Memorial. More than $130,000 has been donated nationwide to place canines in under funded departments nationwide!
