Ohio Police Department Donates Funds to APHF to Provide Posthumous Honors To Fallen Officers

The Harrison, Ohio Police Department has donated $200 to the American Police Hall of Fame to help perpetuate the Police Medal of Honor fund. The program provides a posthumous Medal of Honor and Police Memorial flag to the family of each officer who is killed in the line of duty. On average an officer dies in the line of duty somewhere in America every 57 hours. "On behalf of the men and women of the Harrison Police Department I would like to thank your organization for all of its efforts in such a worthy cause.", said Chief of Police Charles Lindsey in a recent letter to the organization. If you would like to make a donation to this worthy cause click here. The Posthumous Medal of Honor is sent to the department of the slain officer for presentation to the family at a time the department deems appropriate. A check for emergency financial assistance and grief counseling is presented, as well, with funds provided by donors to the American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens.
